VIRGIL MILLARD POLLARD, 93 of Salisbury formerly of the Mendon and Indian Grove, Missouri area died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Chariton Park Health Care Center in Salisbury. He was born June 12, 1914 in Mendon the son of George Lilburn and Sarah Margaret (Fry) Pollard.

Virgil married Ruby Rutliff on July 15, 1936 in Marceline and she preceded him in death on October 25, 1982.

Virgil was a farmer and during the mid 60’s he and Ruby owned and operated the Inian Grove Store, and he was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include three sons George “Red” Pollard and John Pollard both of Keytesville, Virgil L. Pollard of West Liberty, Iowa and one daughter, Sandy VanPelt of Salisbury, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a sister-in-law; Mary Smith of Independence, Mo. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10:00a.m. at the Siloam Chapel Cemetery south of Marceline under direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury (660-388-5800) Memorials are suggested to the Siloam Chapel Cemetery Association.
