STELLA M. BENTLEY,
90, of Keytesville, Mo died May
21, 2008 at her home in Keytesville. Stella was born August 27, 1918 in
Brookfield, MO the daughter of Henry and Eola (Tapscott) Dye. She
married Jesse Bentley on December 25, 1935 in Keytesville, MO during the
Great Depression. They were blessed with two boys Jesse Everett Bentley,
July 20th 1940 and Richard Allen Bentley, August 13, 1946.
She left Keytesville in 1947
and moved to California where she worked packing fruit; she lived there
until 1950. Then moved to Kansas City, MO, where she worked at Luce
Luggage, and then went to Neval Luggage for a while. She then worked for
Wilcox Electric making transmitters and receivers for airplanes on
government contracts. Northrop Electronics bought out Wilcox and she
worked there until 1981, at that time she came back to Keytesville, MO
and retired. She was a former member of the Lacleade United Methodist
Church and attended the Keytesville United Methodist Church.
Stella is survived by her
husband Jesse W. Bentley of the home; a son Jesse E. Bentley and wife
Billlie of Keytesville; four grandchildren Tina Widmer of Keytesville,
Richard E Bentley of Keytesville, Stephen Bentley of Independence, MO,
Richard A. Bentley of Independence, MO; seven great grandchildren, and
two great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her mother Eola Dye
in 1934, her father Henry E. Dye in 1970 at the age of 80, her son
Richard Allen Bentley in 1981 at the age of 31, and a sister Estel Dye.
Memorial gravesides services
with inurnment are Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Asbury
Cemetery, with Rev. Richard Bentley and Rev. Janet Dellinger
officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Cemetery
Association.
