REBECCA LOUISE
ENDERLE, 88, of
Keytesville, died February 20, 2008 at Pershing Hospital in Brookfield,
MO. Rebecca was born April 1, 1919, in Long Green, Maryland, the twin
daughter of Elmer and Louise (Kolk) Schmidt. She married Rudolph Enderle
in 1955, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1980.
Rebecca grew up in Long Green,
Maryland, and studied to be a registered nurse at the St. Joseph
Hospital in Maryland. She served in the Army Nurses Corp, as a Captain,
during World War II, in the Southwest Pacific area. She received the
Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. In
1955 Rebecca married and moved to the Keytesville area. She worked as a
nurse at St. Frances Hospital in Marceline for 30 years, Meadowbrook
Manor for 10 years and Bristol Manor in Salisbury for 4 years. Rebecca
was a member of the Salisbury Immanuel Lutheran Church, and the Cleve
Iman Memorial VFW Post 4926.
A son Tom Enderle and wife
Kathy of Keytesville, MO; her twin sister Katherine Cadotte of Abingdon,
Maryland; two nieces and two nephews survived Rebecca. Her parents,
husband and a brother Edward Schmidt preceded her in death.
Visitation is Friday, February
22nd from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 23rd at the Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Salisbury, with burial in the Keytesville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American
Heart Association.
