MARTIN R. NANNEMAN, 82, of Salisbury, died February 1, 2008 at the Harry S. Truman Veteran’s Hospital in Columbia. Martin was born March 25, 1925 in Wien, Missouri the son of Joseph H. and Helen C. (Lodder) Nanneman.

Martin was a lifelong area resident. He farmed in the Wien community for 35 years, before moving to Salisbury in 1987. He also assisted at the Chariton County Sheltered Workshop. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knight’s of Columbus holding the honor of a 4th Degree Knight.

Martin is survived by eight brother’s and sister’s: Josepha Willis of Salisbury, Ernest Nanneman of Salisbury, Agnes Emmerich of Salisbury, Teresa Kruessel of Salisbury, Rita Gaydusek of Kansas City, MO, Gertrude Henke of Salisbury, Sister Bernilda Nanneman of Atchinson, KS, Jean Henke and husband Wilfred of Salisbury, a brother-in-law Gerald Diamond, two sisters-in-law Maxine Nanneman and Frances Nanneman, a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brother’s and sister’s: Bernard Nanneman, George Nanneman, Lawrence Nanneman, Mary Diamond, Sister Mary Virgil Nanneman, Vincent Nanneman, Virgil D. Nanneman, Sister Edith Nanneman.

Visitation is Monday, February 4, from 4-7:30 p.m., with rosary at 7:30 pm, at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 5th at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mount Saint Schalasitca or the St. Joseph School Foundation.
