Coming from a family of

schools, graduated from Salisbury High School and received a Lifetime
Teaching Certification form Kirksville Normal School, now Truman

roomed with Wilbur and Anna Hutchinson who farmed nearby. It was while
living with the Hutchinson’s that she met and fell in love with husband
to be, Marvin F. Hutchinson. They were married on December 21, 1935 and
enjoyed life together for 67 years, until Marvin passed away in 2002.
They had three sons, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Hildred and Marvin farmed near
Salisbury for most of their married lives and were both active members
of First Baptist Church, Salisbury. Hildred taught adult Sunday school
there for 50 years, sang in the choir and was considered by all to be a
knowledgeable student of the scriptures. She reflected the love of
Christ in all of her ways, always caring for her family, friends, and
neighbors. Her smile was welcome wherever she went. She was a member of
the Salisbury Music Club and instilled a love of music in all three of
her sons, each of whom participates actively in the music ministry of
their churches.
