DAVID EARL BAER, 63, of Alexandria, VA, died April 2, 2008 at Inova-Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. David was born June 20, 1944 in Boonville, MO the son of Earl A. and Elizabeth Ann (Schneider) Baer. He married Irene Leos on February 1, 1964 in San Antonio, TX.

David was a graduate of Salisbury High School, received his MBA and Master through University of Missouri in St. Louis. He served his country in the United States Air force until retiring in 1985 as a Captain. Currently he was a computer systems engineer with Verizon Telecommunications. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Alexandria; he was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Southern Jurisdiction Scottish Right, Mother Lodge in Salisbury, charter member Harry S. Truman in Seoul, Korea, Past Master and Secretary of Hiram-Takoma Lodge #10 in Washington, DC, charter member and present Master of Freedom Military Lodge #1775 in Washington, DC, and a charter member of Sojourner Kilwinining Lodge #1798 in Washington, DC.

David is survived by his wife Irene of Alexandria, VA; mother, Elizabeth Baer of Salisbury; a son David Earl Baer and wife Erdmute of Hamburg, Germany; a daughter Denise Gordon and husband Warner of Salisbury, MO; a brother Fred Baer of Columbia, MO; two sisters Debbie Grotewiel of Clifton Hill, and Victoria Baer of Kansas City; four grandchildren Jeremiah Gordon, Miriah Gordon, Josiah Gordon and Victoria Baer; seven nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 8, from 5-7:00 p.m., with a Masonic service at 6:45 and a special music ceremony at 7:00 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Mass of Christian burial is Wednesday, April 9th at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Military graveside services at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Military Honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Memorial contributions may be made to the David Earl Baer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
