JIM RAMSEY,
84, of Salisbury, MO died
Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. Jim was born
January 24, 1928 in Bynumville, MO the son of Gilbert and Maria (Washam)
Ramsey. He married Eloise Hepworth on January 3, 1947 in Bynumville.
Jim was a graduate of
Bynumville High School Class of 1945. Jim served in the United States
Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer, car salesman,
auctioneer, Chariton County Clerk from 75-95, owner of Big Jim’s Trading
Post for 30 years, Mayor of Salisbury from 2003-2007 and Salisbury
Senior Center director. Jim was a member of the Bynumville Christian
Church, Cleve Iman VFW Post #4926 and the American Legion Post #391,
former Salisbury School Board member, Chariton County Health Department
Board, Rainbow Gardens board member, President of the Salisbury Chamber
of Commerce, President of the Chariton County Sheltered Workshop.
Jim is survived by his wife
Lois of the home, sons Bill Ramsey of Salisbury, MO, Mark Ramsey
(Debbie) of Salisbury, Brian Ramsey(Michelle) of Salisbury, three
sisters Joyce Aurig of Macon, MO, Sue Schell of Quincy, IL, Joan
Peterson of Independence, MO, seven grandchildren, six great
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 4-7:00 p.m.,
Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Summerville Funeral Home with burial in Fitzgerald Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Show Me Christian Youth Home and
Fitzgerald Cemetery.
