BILLY LEE GOOCH,
86 of Kansas City, Missouri died
Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in
Independence, Mo. He was born April 24, 1925 in Salisbury, Missouri the
son of Guy Wesley and Pansye Marie (Rutliff) Gooch.
Billy served our country
during WWII in the U.S. Navy and received an Honorable discharge as a
Aviation Ordnanceman, 2nd Class in 1946.
He worked as a diesel mechanic
for the Cummings Diesel Company in Kansas City for 41 years retiring in
1995. He was a member of the Teamsters Union 541 and was of the
Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son Guy
Wesley and Carol Gooch of Independence, Mo; two daughters, Sandra Lee
and Mark Harris and Julie and Ron Johnson all of Kansas City, Mo; one
step-son, Gary and Nancy Boyd of Lee’s Summit, Mo; five sisters, Thelma
Louise Taylor, of Council Bluffs, Ia; Wanda Marie Gooch of Columbia, Mo;
Shirley Ann Riley and Helen L. Hurt both of Boonville, Mo; Sharon
Pedersen of Des Moines, Ia; numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his parents, one son, Thomas Daniel Gooch and another child and
infancy, three brothers, Kenneth, Lawrence Wayne and Marvin Gooch one
sister, Alice Navelee Gooch and a daughter-in-law, Joan Gooch.
Funeral services will be held
Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home
in Salisbury with burial with full military honors in the Salisbury City
Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Memorials are
suggested to the Salisbury City Cemetery.
