BETTY TOLSON -- Dedicated Mother, sister, and friend; Betty Tolson departed this life to live with the Lord, May 19, 2012. Betty Tolson was a loving woman who dedicated her life to family, friends, and her relationship with Jesus.

Betty Jean Elliott-Tolson was born in Canton, Ohio May 9th 1950 to Mildred Allen and William Elliott, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of four children. At a very early age she was brought to Keytesville, Mo where she was raised with her brothers and sister by her grandmother Louise Allen.

Betty was educated at Lincoln School in Keytesville Missouri. Betty moved to California and attended Audubon Junior High. When she returned to Keytesville, she met the love of her life, Michael Dale Tolson at a basketball game, when she was just 16 years old. She graduated from Keytesville High School in 1968.

Betty and Michael were joined together in marriage, December 15, 1968. Betty and Michael lived in Germany three years after they were married. They relocated back to the U.S. in 1973 to Columbia where they lived over 35 years. Betty was passionate about Christ, Children and helping others. She served as Superintendent of Sunday School, on the Women’s Auxiliary and was a dedicated worker in “The Lords Kitchen.” She was a prayer worrier and a soul winner for Christ!

Betty Tolson is survived by her children Natalie Jones (Harold) Owasso, Oklahoma; Michele Tolson (Terry) Kansas City, Mo; Jessica Tolson, Columbia; Crystal Gregory (Ken) Columbia; One Sister Anna Williams, Brookfield, MO; a brother Fritz Elliott, Moberly, MO; Sister-in-Laws Gail Alexander; Diana Buckner (Earl); Judy Turner (Robert); Renee Tolson; 8 Grandchildren: Imani, Wayne, Iyana, Dwayne, Dion, Layla, Micah, and Talyer; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Tolson, her parents, grandmother and eldest brothers, Howard Elliott and William Elliott jr.

Services wiil be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Mo. with visitation fron 10:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be held at 2:30p.m. Friday at Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Salisbury. Memorials are suggested to the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church "Lord's Kitchen".
