JOHN HENRY BENTLEY, 94, of Keytesville, MO died Friday, November 4, 2011 at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, MO. John was born March 11, 1917 in Keytesville, MO the son of Daniel and Josephine (Sanderson) Bentley. He married Mildred Littleton on April 12, 1940 in Keytesville.

John served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked in maintenance for the Missouri Dept. of Transportation for 23 years, retiring in 1982. John was a member of the Keytesville Baptist Church and the Rucker-McAlister Post #7 of Brunswick, MO.

John is survived by his wife Mildred of Keytesville, MO, daughter Glennus Oxley (Myron) of Centerview, MO, grandchildren Marty Oxley, Dannie Oxley, Doyle Oxley, great grandchildren Mike Oxley, Mindy Chaffin, Eli Oxley, Jonie Oxley, several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fonzo, Grover, William “Bill”, Earnest, Jesse “Nig”, sisters Kitty Francis and Ruth Littleton.

Visitation is from Noon until 1:00 p.m., with services following at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6th at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Asbury Cemetery. Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 provided military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Cemetery Association.
