JAMES MELVIN BROOKS, 62, of Keytesville, MO died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his home. James was born September 1, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Edwin Wayne and Bettye Leon (O’Dell) Brooks. He married Michele Buckallew on January 1, 2000 at Lake Nehai and she survives of the home.

He attended North East Missouri State at Kirksville for two years. James was an over-the-road truck driver for several companies for many years.

James is survived by his mother Bettye Brooks of Salisbury, wife Michele of the home, a daughter Kimberly Ann Parker (Rick) of Blue Springs, MO, three step-sons Odes Lucas (Janey) of Platte City, MO, Jeremy Lucas of Salisbury, MO, Kalib Lucas (Holly) of Moberly, MO, a step daughter April Lucas of Moberly, Mo, three grandchildren, four step grandchildren, two nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Russell Brooks.

Visitation is 9:30- 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 19th with services following at 10:30 a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Eastlawn Memory Gardens.
