VIOLET PEARLE GUNN, 81 of Brunswick, Missouri died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. She was born October 24, 1927 in Keytesville, Missouri the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Munden) Ashley.

Violet married Robert William Gunn on September 4, 1942 in Keytesville and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1984.

Mrs. Gunn worked for the White Rogers Transformer Company and was a pill sorter for Marion Laboratory in Kansas City for 12 years retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Brunswick Baptist church and was a Cub Scout leader in Brunswick for 10 years.

Survivors include two sons and daughter’s-in-law, Robert, Jr. and Helen Gunn of Jefferson City, Missouri and Pete and Virginia Gunn of Carrollton, Missouri, 4 grandchildren, Robin Rasmussen, Sherry Bloss, Shawna Steward and Tom Gunn, 6 great grandchildren, Brianne and Austin Rasmussen, Crystal Hanlon, Nathan and Sheldon Steward and Taylor Gunn, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, 4 brothers, Ralph, Jesse, Charles and Kenneth Ashley and 2 sisters, Myrtle Abeln and Nola Cooper, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 until service time at the Brunswick Baptist Church (under direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.) Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the Huntington’s Disease.
