ROSIA LEE HUGHES,
72, of Columbia, MO died August
12, 2009 at South Hampton Place in Columbia, MO. Rosia was born March 5,
1938 in Gilliam, MO the daughter of Danny and Oleo (Fristoe) Jackson.
She married Roland L. Hughes on September 6, 1955 in Kansas City,
Kansas.
Rosia lived in Dalton until
the later years of her life. She worked as an aid at the Marshall
Habilitation Center for 20 years, retiring in 1999. Rosia was a
member of the Dalton First Baptist Church, Dalton Heritage Club, and an
alumni of Dalton Days.
Rosia leaves to cherish her
mother Olea Finney of Kansas City, MO; two sons Marlon "Speedy" Hughes
of Kansas City, MO, Noland Hughes of Fulton, MO; two daughter's
Don-Nanette Canada and Husband JayDee of Kansas City, MO Janica Johnson
of Columbia, MO, two brothers Russell Jackson of Kansas City, KS, Danny
Jackson of Kansas City , MO; a sister Tina Brooks of Kansas City, MO;
eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews. Her father, husband Roland on June 23, 2003, a brother
Kenneth Jackson and one grandson preceded her in death.
Visitation is 10 - 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, August 15, 2009 with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the
Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Dalton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Dalton Cemetery Association.
