REV. PAMELA SHURTLEFF, 67, of Dalton, MO, died August 11, 2009 at home. Pamela was born October 15, 1941 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Luther F. Symons II and Helen Katherine Wilson.

Rev. Shurtleff received a master degree from Southwest Missouri State University. She was a pastor with the United Methodist Church serving the communities of Houstonia, Bethel, Fairgrove, Hume and Blackwater Chapel.

A son Robert Shurtleff and wife Jennifer of Denver, CO; a daughter Susan Person of Dalton, MO; a brother Luther Symons III of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a niece and nephew survive Rev. Shurtleff. Her parents, and a brother Jeffrey Symons preceded her in death.

Visitation is 5-6 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation is 10-11:00 a.m., Friday, August 14th at the Blackwater Chapel near Sweet Springs, MO with graveside services at 11:00 at the Blackwater Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Chris Ruddell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Missouri.
