MARLIN GLENN BROWN, 72 of Keytesville (Lake Nehai) Missouri died Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. He was born October 26, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota the son of Clarence and Mary (Harmon) Brown.

Marlin graduated from Center High School in Center, N.D. Class of 1955. He then served his country in the U.S. Army for 2 years. Marlin graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from North Dakota State University Majoring in Agronomy in 1966.

Marlin married Caryl Joyce Sparks on June 9, 1962 in Crosby, N.D. and she survives of the home.

Mr. Brown worked for PAG/Cargil Company as a Hybrid Seed corn Breeder in Carrollton from 1967 till 1990 and in Seward, Nebraska from 1990 till he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Marceline Eagles and a former member of the Immanuel Lutheran Men’s Club; he enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking and playing cards with family and friends.

Marlin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Caryl of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Kerry Brown of Olathe, Ks; daughter and son-in-law, Krista and Douglas Cowick of Carrollton, Mo; 2 grandchildren, Megan and Garrett Brown 3 Step-grandchildren, Chad Cowick, Lacey Hinote and Cassidy Cowick, 6 step-great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Murvin and Mary Ann Brown of Miles City, Mt; Myron and Jeanette Brown of Center, N.D; 2 sisters, Arlene and John Garrett of Sikeston, Mo; Ellen Jones of Wichita, Ks; a half-sister, Bernice Weise of the State of California, several nieces and nephews, and beloved dog and faithful companion, TOBY. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chad William Brown at infancy and a half-brother, Billy Corwin.

Family will have a Celebration of Life gathering from 7 till 9:00P.M. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Lake Nehai Clubhouse basement. Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:30a.m. at the Carroll Memory Gardens Cemetery in Carrollton, Mo under direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bynumville, Mo; or American Cancer Society or American Lung Assn.
