DONALD EUGENE PRESTON, 80, of Keytesville, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Moberly Nursing and Rehab Center. Donald was born October 6, 1928 in Randolph County the son of John Moses and Lenora (Roberts) Preston.

As a young man, Donald, resided with his Aunt and Uncle, Lucille and Jim Preston. After farming with his Uncle Jim for several years, he then moved to Wyoming and worked as a “cowboy” for the Warren Livestock Company a Warren Ranch. After moving back to Missouri, Donald worked in construction for a time, then owned and operated his own bulldozing business. In semi-retirement he worked for Cockrell Township as a road maintenance operator. Donald was of the Christian faith, and was a member of the Musselfork Baptist Church.

Donald is survived by two brothers, Ed Preston and wife Shirley of Oklahoma, Melvin Wayne Preston and wife Laura of Boston, MA, a sister Anna Mae and husband Bill Steinkamp of Kansas City, MO, survive Donald. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother Cleo (Kribbs) Preston.

Visitation is 1-2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 19 at the Old Hickory Cemetery at Darksville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Hickory Cemetery.
