JASPER DAVID PENROD,
73, longtime resident of the
Salisbury, Missouri area, died Friday at the Moberly Regional Medical
Center. David was born January 29, 1936 in Prairie Hill, Missouri the
son of Elmo and Anna Ruth (Thomas).
David married Rose Mary Monnig
on February 15, 1964 in Salisbury and she preceded him in death on
January 3, 1992.
Mr. Penrod was a tractor and
automobile mechanic for several businesses in and around Salisbury for
many years and he also farmed for many years. He was a member of the
Prairie Hill Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter
and son-in-law; Paula and Robert DeWeese of Marceline, step-son, Kenneth
(Jeanie) Gelski of Moberly, step-daughter’s, Joyce (Leo) Reed of
Keytesville, Mary (Jamie) Bowyer of Brunswick and a step, son-in-law,
Steve Orr of Memphis, TN. 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. His parents, wife, step-daughter, Gloria
Orr, and a step-grandson,
Jeremy Reed, preceded David in death.
Funeral services will be held,
Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10:00a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in
Salisbury with interment in the Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in
Salisbury. Visitation is Sunday from 2 until 4:00p.m. at the funeral
home. Memorials are suggested to either American Lung Assn. or to the
Alzheimer’s Assn.
