ANNA RUTH PERRY,
93, of Salisbury, MO, died Monday
December 14, 2009 at University Hospital in Columbia. Anna Ruth was born
April 7, 1916 in Negro, New Mexico the daughter of Charles B. and Edith
Mae (Richards) Walter. She married Gerald Perry on November 12, 1938 in
Huntsville, MO and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1989.
Anna Ruth and Gerald owned and
operated the Gamble’s Store in Salisbury for several years. She worked
for the Biltwell Clothing Factory for almost 20 years. After retirement
she volunteered for many years at the Salisbury Senior Center. Anna Ruth
was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church from early childhood.
She taught Sunday school for many years. Anna was a member of the
Salisbury First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Washington
Workers.
Anna is survived by three
sisters Margaret Cawood of Kansas City, MO, Esthel Wolf of Kansas City,
MO, Charlene Ewing of Eugene, OR, several nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her husband, five brothers Omer Walter, Marvin
Walter, Russell Walter, Lewis Walter, Lindell Walter, and a sister Lucy
Wood.
Visitation is Wednesday,
December 16, 2009 from 10-11:00 a.m., with services following at 11:00
at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Eastlawn
Memory Garden. Memorial contributions to the Salisbury First Baptist
Church.
