VIOLET MARIE MILLER HODGES, 84 of Salisbury, died Sunday morning, October 5, 2008 at the Macon Health Care Center in Macon, Missouri. She was born April 29, 1924 in Valley Junction, Wisconsin the daughter of Oscar and Cora Evelyn (Santas) Buxton.

Violet married Milford Miller on July 17, 1939 in Richland, MO; and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1978, later she married Jerome Hodges on February 3, 1989 in Kaseyville, MO; and he preceded her in death December 1990.

Violet was a seamsterss for the Biltwell Clothing Factory in Salisbury for 24 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Salisbury First Baptist Church, the church WMU and the C and R Liners.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Fred Buxton, Kearn Casper Buxton Claude Marcellas Buxton at infantcy, half-brother, Leroy Turner and a sister, Louise Fern Buxton at infantcy. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Bob and Eleanor Miller of Salisbury, Gerald and Rita miller of Callao, one daughter and her husband, Patricia and Carroll Gaubatz of Salisbury, ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from noon till the service time at 2:00p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial in the Prairie Valley Cemetery, Salisbury. Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Valley Cemetery Assn.
