ROY A. THOMPSON, 94 of Moberly, Missouri died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1914 south of Marceline, Missouri the son of William Ernest Thompson and Viola Mae (Graves) Thompson.   Roy married Bethmas T. Sprouse on November 27, 1939 in Huntsville, Missouri.

Mr. Thompson was a farmer, and then he worked for Jackson Motors in Salisbury before moving to Windsor, Missouri where he became the Manager for MFA Oil Co. for 15 years. In 1965 he moved to Moberly where he became the MFA Bulk Plant Manager before retiring and driving a school bus for 3 or 4 years.

His wife, an infant son and a sister, Jewell Dexter, preceded Roy in death. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Doris Jean and James Hess of Moberly; one grandson, Roy Earnest Jennings Colorado, two sisters, Ernestine Sprouse of Salisbury and Delores Stevens of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00p.m. at the Prairie Valley Cemetery north of Salisbury. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the graveside at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Valley Cemetery Assn.
