PATRICIA "PATSY" M.
SCHEIDERER,
64, of Salisbury, MO died August
13, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Glasgow. Patsy was born March 4,
1944 in Moberly, MO the daughter of Gustav H. and Margaret M. (Biere)
Scheiderer.
Patsy grew up in Salisbury and
was a graduate of Salisbury High School Class of 1962. She received a BS
in Education from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg in
December 1965; a MS in Education Administration at the University of
Illinois in 1974; and a Special Education Certificate from the
University of Missouri, Columbia. On January 1966 Patsy started her long
career in education. From 66-74 she taught at Roach School, Decatur
Public Schools, 74-76 she taught Title I Reading and Math Strategist,
intern principal program and Muffley School Principal; 76-82 Principal
at Oglesby School; 82-89 Principal at Pershing School; 89-91 took a
leave from the Decatur School District and worked for Prudential
Insurance from 89-93; in 1993 Patsy moved to Salisbury, MO and worked at
Shelter Insurance; in 1998 she began teaching Special Education at the
Salisbury Elementary School until her retirement in 2005, after teaching
in Missouri for 7 years and 24 ˝ years in Decatur. Patsy was a member of
the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, serving as Sunday School
Superintendent and Board of Education. She was very active in many
organizations through out her life in both Decatur and Salisbury. In
Decatur she was a life member of the National Education Association, IEA,
DEA, PTA, Reading Council holding several offices, Association of
Childhood Education, Illinois Principals Association, Illinois Retired
Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma- (IL) Beta Phi & MO, Altrusa
Club. In Salisbury she was a member of Missouri Retired Teachers
Association, Chariton County Retired School Personnel, PEO, Chapter BD,
and the Chariton County Historical Museum, serving on the board and as
President.
Patsy was passionate about so
many things. She loved her family, friends, work and play. She had a
ready smile and a laugh that drew you right in. She loved life and made
our world a better place. Some of her passions were teaching, family,
cooking, baking, canning, counted cross-stitch, sewing, flower gardening
and traveling.
Patsy is survived by her
sister-in-law Sandra Scheiderer from Olean, MO; three nephews Derrick
Scheiderer, Drew Scheiderer, and Seth Scheiderer; several aunts, uncles
and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother G.
Dennis Scheiderer.
Visitation is 2-4:00 p.m.,
Sunday, August 17th at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury.
Services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 18th at the Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Salisbury with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
