OPAL J BENNETT, 85, of Salisbury, died September 17, 2008 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Opal was born September 27, 1922 in Salisbury, MO the daughter of Ledru and Constance (Gooch) Moore. She married Oscar Thomas Bennett on March 1, 1953 in Salisbury, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1985.

Opal was a homemaker and along with husband owned and operated Bennett Blacksmith Shop in Salisbury. She was a member of Salisbury United Methodist Church.

Opal is survived by two daughters Glenda Weiseman and husband Dennis of Salisbury, Janis Glick and husband Randy of Rozet, WY; grandchildren Stephanie Bulter of Columbia,MO, Erica Aholt of Nashua, N.H., Melinda Buckingham of Gillette, WY, Michael Weiseman of Excello, MO, and Lynn Hamilton of Salisbury, MO; eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and three nephews.

Visitation is 10- 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008 , with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial in Eastlawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salisbury United Methodist Church.
