LUCILLE WITT, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Cloisters of Mission Hills in San Diego.

Mrs. Witt was born in Salisbury, MO on March 15, 1920. She was the youngest daughter of Henry William and Lulu Eleanor (Thompson) Eisberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. Alvin Graebner.

She attended elementary, parochial, and high school in Salisbury, graduated with the class of 1939. She moved to San Diego, CA in January 1946. She married Donald Gordon Witt of San Diego at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on September 17, 1947. They returned to San Diego wher Mr. Witt was stationed in the US Navy. They were the parents of one son, Leroy Witt.

Her husband preceded her in death on January 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter, Carl, Clarence and Robert and sisters, Mabel Goebel, Gladys Fankel and Gertrude Loth, nieces Elise Goebel and Charlotte Loth.

She is survived by her son , Leroy of Lisbon, New York, four grandsons, Dennis, Glen, Robert, and Gordon Witt, 6 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, Violette Thompson-Richerl, Ruth Ann Leven, Judy Schache, 3 nephews, Rev. Clarence Eisberg, Keith Eisberg and Edward Loth.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in San Diego where she taught Sunday School and held church offices for several years. She served as president of the Sharp Hospital Auxillary.

Visitation is Friday, March 21st from 10-10:45 at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with graveside services at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, by the Rev. Glen Gutz. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
