ARTHUR "SKUT" JAMES RODGERS, 75, of Clifton Hill, Missouri died December 18, 2008 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Arthur was born February 9, 1933 in Clifton Hill, MO the son of James and Ethel (Bates) Rodgers.

Arthur was a lifelong Clifton Hill resident. He was an entrepreneur of various businesses, such as spray-painting barns all over the area; dealt in junk cars, tree trimmer and trapper. Arthur was an avid coon and deer hunter, and loved his coon dogs. He attended the Clifton Hill Baptist Church.

Arthur is survived by his best friend and companion Violet of the home; foster children Ronard Rice of Moberly, Larry Thomas of Republic, MO, Randy Thomas of Moberly, Jesse Rodgers of the state of Florida; five sisters Laura Bergmann of St. Charles, MO, Ada Smith of Clifton Hill, MO, Kathryn Shoemaker of Keytesville, MO, Ruby Penrod of Salisbury, MO, Ruth Fotovich of Clifton Hill, MO; several nieces and nephews. Preceded him in death were his parents and a brother Donald Rodgers.

Visitation is 10-11:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m., December 20, 2008, at the Summerville Funeral Home with burial in Clifton Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Hill Cemetery Association or the Clifton Hill Baptist Church.
