VIRGINIA C. PATTON, 94 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit. Mrs. Patton lived in the Lee’s Summit area most of her life except from 1940 to 1960 when she resided in Huntsville, Missouri. She was born August 19, 1913 in Coweta, Oklahoma the daughter of Aubrey L. and Vera Williams Carr.

Virginia graduated from Grandview High School in 1931 and from CMSU in Warrensburg in 1935.

She married William “Bill” Patton 1941 and he preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1979.

Virginia was secretary for the superintendent of the Lee’s Summit School System for many years. She was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church and a PEO Chapter in Lee’s Summit.

Survivors include her twin sister, Gertrude Sears of Huntsville, Missouri,. two nephews, William C. Sears of Chula Vista, Ca. and Jim Sears of Moberly, Mo. and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2:00p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville with burial in the Huntsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 till service time Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Gertrude Sears Living Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Huntsville United Methodist Church.
