LOTTIE JOSEPHINE RICE,
87 of Moberly died Tuesday, April
8, 2008 at her home. She was born December 24, 1921 in Treverskyn, Pa.
the daughter of Joseph and Lottie (Cukrzynski) Jesiolkiewic.
Lottie married H.E. “Gene”
Rice on October 6, 1947 in Kelso, Wa; and to this union was born four
children, Richard, Geeneen, and twins Rayle and Renee’.
She served her country during
WWII as a secretary to the Navigators and Bombardier’s in the Army/Air
Force 112th Battalion Unit.
Mr. And Mrs. Rice moved to the Huntsville, Moberly area in 1969. Lottie
worked for Temple-Stephens Warehouse Bakery Department, she owned and
operated Lottie’s Italian Restaurant in Moberly for years. She was
member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly and the Moberly
Moose Lodge and she helped manage the Moberly Teen Town.
Survivors include her four
children, Richard and Joyce Rice, Rayle Rice, Geeneen and Paul Wilhite
all of Huntsville and Renee’ and Edward John of Columbia. Two brothers,
Joe Jessal of Tampa, FL, Carl Jesiolkiewic of Heidelberg, PA, two
sisters, Deloris Kochin of Carnegie, PA and Barbara Reither of
Pittsburgh, Pa; 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3
brothers, two sisters and great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held
Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:30a.m. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church
in Moberly with burial with full Military Honor’s in Memorial Park
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 till 8:00p.m with a 4:45p.m. Prayer
service at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Memorials are suggested to
the Living Memorial Scholarship Fund.
