ANNA GENEVIEVE
ANTONELLI LYNCH,
95, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
She was born on Sept. 17,
1916, in Higbee. Genevieve was a lifelong educator and advocate for
seniors in Central Missouri. She served as principal of Bradley
Elementary School and president of the Missouri Retired Teachers
Association from 1998 to 2000. Genevieve was honored as Missouri Retired
Teacher of the Year in 2003 and received the Missouri Senior Service
Award in 2007. She also was a leader in the Silver Haired Legislature,
the Higbee Senior Citizens Center, OATS and the United Way of Randolph
County.
Genevieve is survived by her
daughter, Sherie Ann Lynch Marek; son-in-law Leonard Marek; grandson
Michael Marek; nieces Patricia Cox, Sue Yowell and Debbie Huckleberry;
and nephew Joesph Walbert. Her husband, Gabriel Lynch, preceded her in
death.
A funeral will be held at 10
a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Huntsville First Christian Church. Burial will
be at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. A celebration of
Genevieve life will be held at 10 a.m. June 13 at St. Rose Church in
Cincinnati.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to the Genevieve Lynch Memorial Scholarship at the
University of Missouri College of Education, which will support
experienced students from Randolph and Chariton Counties. Donations may
