PAUL EVERETT SMITH, 81, of Clifton Hill died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at his home. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 22, 2009 at 2 P.M. at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Friday at the Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church.

Paul was born August 17, 1927 in Daus, TN. the son of Alley B. and Lizzie (Hudson) Smith. He was united in marriage to Lillian Gaither March 9, 1951 in Somerville, TN.

Survivors include his wife Lillian of the home; three daughters, Paula Overfelt of St. Joseph, MO; Libby Adler of Clifton Hill, MO and Linda Smith of Overland Park, KS; one brother Layton K. Smith of Knoxville, TN; one sister-in-law Katherine Smith of Dunlap, TN; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son-in-law Fred Adler; one brother Elijah Lee Smith; and two sisters Almeda Cope and Viva Ruth Smith.

Paul was a member of the Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church. He attended Tennessee tech for two years. Paul had worked for 23 years at Associated Electric were he held various positions within the company.
Paul enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Paul and Lillian had traveled to all 50 States over the years.
