OLETA (PATTON)
ROSE, 93, of
Lenexa, KS died July 30, 2009 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Oleta
was born January 29, 1916 in Huntsville, MO the daughter of Thomas B.
and Wauneta (Jenkins) Patton. On October 26, 1941 in Huntsville, MO she
was united in marriage to George Meade Rose.
As an Air Force officer’s
wife, Oleta was able to travel extensively. After George’s retirement
they settled in Tallahassee, FL from 1972-89. In 1989 they made the
Kansas City area their home. Oleta was a life-long member of the
Huntsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the
piano,reading and was an avid card and game player.
Surviving Oleta is her son
Jack Rose and wife Lizbeth of Midland, TX; a daughter Pam Miltenberger
of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren Julie Williams, Amy Schmidt,
Sarah Jane Manica, Marc Rose, and Eric Rose; six great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. Preceding Oleta in death were her parents,
husband George, and brothers Harold and Paul Patton.
Visitation is 1-2:00 with
services following at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8th at the Patton
Funeral Home in Huntsville, MO, with burial in Huntsville City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsville United Methodist
Church.
