JAMES NOAH HOWARD,
67, of Clifton Hill, passed away
on March 1, 2009 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at
Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in
Moberly. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the
Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
James was born August 13, 1941
in Moberly to Frances and Edith Willsie Howard. He was survived by
his mother, one son: Jason Howard and Nicole Dilts of Clifton Hill,
three daughters: Dena Embree (Doug) of Anchorage, Alaska; Tracy Adkisson
(Mike) of Moberly; Cheryl Rudder (Shan) of Huntsville. 17 grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren, three brothers; Ronnie Howard of Perry; Alvin
Howard (Marilyn) of the State of Florida; Elmer Howard (Vicky) of
Clifton Hill, three sisters; Connie Staiger of Moberly; Pam Nauerth
(Dennis) of Clifton Hill; Pat Howard of Moberly, and several nieces,
nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his
father, son – James Allen Howard;
grandson- James Layton Howard; brother- Gary Howard and sister- Barbara
Howard.
James enjoyed moving the earth
and ran a bulldozer for many years for Bill Orten. He went to work for
Peabody Coal Company until it was bought out by Associated Electric,
where he worked as reclamation superintendent. He had a passion for
black powder shooting and in 1975, along with a few others, founded the
Pine Ridge Men that is still active today.
