GLADYS CATHERINE SPICER, 75, of Macon died March 3, 2009 at Samaritan Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Moberly. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Gladys was born July 25, 1933 in Green City, Missouri to Forrest and Susan Catherine Schisel Hoover. She married Raymond Spicer on August 10, 1952 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2007.  Survivors include two sons; Ray Jr. Spicer (Dee) of Phoenix, AZ; Forrest D. Spicer (Celia) of Bettendorf, IA; two daughters Alice C. Apple (Robert) of Leclaire, IA; Ivy J. West and Gary Day of Macon, MO, three grandchildren; Bobby Apple, Dereck Collins and Kayla Spicer,  two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Ike, Harold and Roy Hoover.

Gladys was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed quilting and putting together jig saw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.   Memorials can be made to the Humane Society.
