CLEONA ELNA LUNSFORD - On Saturday, December 27, 2008 Cleona Elna Lunsford, 91, went to be with Jesus at the home of her daughter, Barbara Bartholomew in Blue Springs, Missouri. Elna was born in Hinton Oklahoma on June 19, 1917 to Alonzo Baker and Ida Lou Cunningham. She moved from Oklahoma to Huntsville, Missouri when she was 7 years old. She married J.W. (Jay) Lunsford on January 28, 1938 and celebrated 70 years together. She was a member of the Huntsville First Baptist Church and a member of the Margaret Miller Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband: J.W. Lunsford, her four children: Jeannine Myers of Anna, Illinois, Janelle and Joseph Lehmann of Grain Valley, John and Brenda Lunsford of Huntsville, and Barbara (Bebe) and Lonnie Bartholomew of Blue Springs. Grandchildren: John and Gina Myers and Family, Jay and Kathy Gaumer and Family, Tracy and Dianne Waterhouse and Family, Jody Pope and Family, Daniel, Alicia and Tiffany Lunsford, Brad and Becky Herring, Jared and Derek Bartholomew Special Nephew and Nieces: Lonnie Gail and Mary Prewitt and Family, Annette Lopp, Jeanie Baker, Nancy Kellogg and girls, Sandy Fiacco and Family.  Loving Sister-in-Law: Estalene Lunsford and Family

She was lovingly known to may people as Grandma but especially to Jamie Lippleman, Matt Bartig, and Michael Lehmann. She had adopted Wesley Weimer as her “little boy.” A devout Christian, Grandma took each opportunity to share her Christian witness which touched many lives. No one walked away from her house without a care package. Grandma Lunsford will be remembered as a wonderful mother, friend and neighbor.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2008 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville, Missouri. A celebration of Grandma’s life will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Huntsville City Cemetery.
