Rick and Kalene
Summerville made their home in Chariton County in 1990. On August
24, 1999 they purchased the former McFadden-Fuemmeler Funeral Home and
Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, allowing them to make Chariton County
their permanent home. Prior to the purchase of Summerville Funeral
Home, Inc. they co-managed the former Berry Funeral Home in Salisbury,
Keytesville, and McCurry-Berry Funeral Home in Brunswick. Rick and
Kalene are both licensed funeral directors and embalmers in the state of
Missouri. Rick attended mortuary school in Dallas and Kalene
attended Kansas City, Kansas Community College.
Rick and Kalene are
very active in community activities and groups, belonging to the Lions,
PEO, Beta Sigma Phi, Salisbury United Methodist Church and many
others. Rick and Kalene have three daughters; Jade, Amber and Brooke
Summerville. Summerville Funeral Home, Inc. also employees Brent
Massie as the manager of the Patton Funeral Home.
Kalene was elected as District 2
Director in 2005, and in May 2007 she was elected to be Sec/Treas of the
Missouri Funeral
Director's Association. In June, 2009, she was elected
President of the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. We are also members of the
National Funeral
Directors Association.
